The Voice

“He’ll do anything to distract you,” said the Lord one night before I began to read my bible. I had been caught up trying to find something that was so important, yet I can’t even remember what it was. On top of that I have never heard God speak in my head like that, or at least so that I could notice it so easily. It was this foreign voice that had frozen me right in my tracks. I made plans to read my bible, but was doing everything except that.

Satan loves to distract us: Entertainment, cleaning,  self-projects, and lists of things. Yet when we look back all we realize is all of those times we didn’t pray or didn’t read the bible. But we can’t exactly remember what we were doing.

Today, write down everything that distracts you from God. Underline the things that you could possibly use to thrive in God, and cross out the ones that absolutely could not prosper you into God’s plans.

Ex:

Chores- work hard, everything we do, do for the lord

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23-24)

Cigarettes- Self Harm

Television- Christian television?

Music-Air 1 or any other Christian radio station to boost your faith, or  win some friends over…they just might start asking questions

Friends- Surround yourself with positive ones, but help out the bad ones and show them an example of God’s Amazing Grace.
