Knitting is not for old people

I love to knit. Knitting is awesome. I’m actually working on my first sweater right now, which is a bolero jacket from the Debbie Bliss  magazine. And that’s right. I’m ONLY 17.  I hate the stereotype people put up about knitting. So many young people are knitting nowadays, even celebrities.

I think the reason why I knit is because it’s relaxing, and I love wearing clothes I know that I made myself. Anyone can knit (exception: I don’t recommend it if your hands have arthritis). The only thing you need is patience, needles, and yarn. It takes patience because in today’s society, we are so used to just going to the store and BUYING our clothes. You have to slowly watch the piece being made. Stitch by stitch.

Here are some pictures of my humble current knittting project:

  1. I agree! I’m 18 and I knit all the time. I started knitting when I was 12 and I have been knitting hard core for about 4 years now. Are you on Ravelry?

  2. Yay! I’m 17…I haven’t heard of Ravelry, what is it?
